Provincial Settlement Services

The Provincial Settlement Services, also known as Pathways Program at IWS, support newcomer immigrants to Saskatchewan with enhanced access to general orientation information, and individualized settlement action planning and referrals to facilitate their settlement into Saskatchewan. The services are available to newcomer immigrants who reside in Saskatoon, Regina, and communities within a 150km radius of both cities.

Program Components

The program consists of Tier 1 and Tier 2

  • Tier 1 through this stream, we provide clients with general information and referrals to settlement services, language training, public services, and community resources.
  • Tier 2 provides the opportunity for clients to meet with a Settlement Resource Advisor, in person or via zoom, for individualized settlement action planning aimed at addressing unique settlement needs.

Who Can Participate?

Tier 1 – Information, Orientation & Referrals

  • All newcomers to Saskatchewan
  • 18 years of age or older

Tier 2 – Settlement Advising

  •  Newcomers to Saskatchewan
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have been in Saskatchewan for 5 years or less.
  • Must be eligible to work in Saskatchewan

Our Settlement Resource Advisors will provide the following kinds of settlement support to clients:

  • Assistance in creating a settlement action plan.
  • Assistance with obtaining a driver’s license and/or SIN.
  • Assistance with the application for a health card.
  • Assistance in applying for Child Tax Benefits
  • Housing and education information
  • Shopping information (food, clothing, and more)
  • Information on health and recreation
  • Referrals to other community programs and resources
