Our programs for Children & Youth are designed to provide newcomer children and youth with a safe and fun space to meet new friends, learn about their new community, and develop leadership skills.
CO-ED ADULT PROGRAMS
The Computer & Job Skills Training Program is a 14-week training course that would provide both the theory and practical skills for the use of computers for personal and employment purposes.
The Employment Training Program (ETP) is a free, full-time work-readiness program that provides the necessary skills for employment.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT & TESTING
Our Drop-in EAL/ESL classes, run by our volunteers, provides ongoing language supports to all newcomers regardless of immigration status.
Our Language Assessment and Referral Centre (LARC) Saskatchewan program offers language testing and referrals to federally funded LINC programs. We offer our LARC Saskatchewan program in Saskatoon, Regina and Prince Albert.
The Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) is a partnership project between IWS and Touchstone Institute. Our Saskatoon office is a test site for CELBAN testing in Saskatchewan.
The Just4Women Program is a women’s only program, designed to provide gender-sensitive support services to women who are vulnerable to the risks of isolation, domestic violence and lack of access to support networks for socio-economic participation. The program provides a forum for learning, friendship and broader community connections.
The Settlement Advisor Program uses case management strategies including needs assessment, personalized action planning, referral protocols and group learning/information sessions to assist clients.
