You can join the ActiveGray program at any time that feels right for you after your arrival to Canada. It’s designed to accommodate seniors at different stages of their settlement process. Whether you’ve just arrived or have been in the country for a few months, the program offers ongoing support and activities to help you acclimate to your new surroundings.
If you are already a client of IWS, there’s no need to bring any additional documents; simply complete the form required for attending the program. However, if this is your first time receiving a service from IWS, please bring a valid form of identification or your immigration status document. These are necessary for your initial registration. After this step, you will be asked to fill out the forms specific to the program.
During your appointment, you’ll meet with our staff who will introduce you to the program and its components. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have and learn about the resources available to you.
After your appointment, you’ll be invited to participate in the ongoing activities of the ActiveGray program, either online or in-person depending on our program schedule. Expect to engage in a variety of educational sessions, arts and crafts, language learning, and social interaction opportunities. You’ll also have the chance to visit local attractions and engage in outdoor activities, further enhancing your experience and integration into the community.
